Night Forest Queen

I started this acrylic painting a year ago and I finally finished it a few weeks ago. I started this piece when Quarantine was just starting. With no conventions in the near future, I had much more free time to explore painting again.   I was feeling a lot of complex emotions due to Covid and I felt a desire to put them into this art piece. A lot of people I knew were afraid or scared for what the future was going to be like. So I drew a dark foggy forest for the background first. But to counter that fear, I wanted to paint someone who would be strong even in that sort of environment. A queen is what came to mind.  I’m tempted to do a series of queenly paintings. I have an idea for the next one, but we shall see.
