Zombie Ranch 249 – Basic Instincts

I love drawing the cartoon version of our zombie ranch world. Here we have Uncle Chuck (Suzie Zane’s Uncle) chatting on the left about the ranch. Jon is Suzie’s father. 

One of the hardest things was trying to figure out how I wanted the cartoon cows to look in this chibi world.  My inspiration came from a combination of Heffer from Rocko’s Modern Life and some of the cows in The Far Side comics.

I also remember telling the writer of Zombie Ranch that all the cow’s noses were just the letter “B” and him saying “Now I’ll never unsee it!” . I choose to make it a letter B because I was trying to not make them look like they were herding pigs.
